India Vision 2020, is written by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Y.S Rajan in 1998.

The India Vision 2020 was not only a book but also involves the inventiveness of nations and expectations of the late former president of India Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam for India.

‘The Missile Man of India’, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 and this day observed as World Students Day. From the year 2002 to 2007, he was the President of India. He is an awardee of India’s highest civilian honor “Bharat Ratna”,

Yagnaswami Sundara Rajan or Y. S. Rajan born on 10 April 1943. He is an Indian professor, administrator, and scientist. He has made major contributions to the management of Science & Technology. He is one of the famous scientists, who has worked closely with Abdul Kalam.

Basically, India Vision 2020 is dedicated to a young girl whom Kalam met and asked her “what was your dream” for which the young girl replied, “I want to live in a developed India.” In the book India 2020, APJ Kalam strongly advocates an action plan to develop India into a strong nation by the year 2020. He also regarded our nation as a knowledge superpower and a developed nation. The book shows the present and the future scenario of India and other developed countries.
